Halle Berry will play the president of the United States. This is obviously an incredible upgrade from any president we’ve ever had, but especially one particular guy.
She’s playing this role in an adaptation of James Patterson and Bill Clinton’s novel The President is Missing. I personally think it’s a terrible bait and switch to give us Halle Berry as the president and then take her away from us, but it is what it is. Nobody asked me.
We have not spent any time on this website discussing that Bill Clinton and James Patterson have authored a book called The President is Missing, but allow me to state now that this a very funny combination of elements. (And for the curious: I had to look up the plot of The President is Missing to see if the president in that book is a man or a woman; no, it is a man. Halle’s gender-swapping it.)
According to Deadline, the production company that Halle shares with Holly Jeter, HalleHolly, will be producing this adaptation for Apple Original Films along with a whole slate of properties for various services, including a movie called Bad Cop, Bad Cop, which co-stars Halle alongside Fortune Feimster and Jillian Bell.
So, let it be known that Halle is working! Good for you, girl! I mean, Madame President.
