I don’t really watch a lot of superhero things, but I have seen the two Into the Spider-Verse movies that have come out. My favorite part about them, unsurprisingly, was the inclusion of a Spider-Man variant called Spider-Noir, a black-and-white, trenchcoat-wearing avenger voiced by Nicolas Cage.

The character has appeared in his own comic series since 2009, but the adaptation of the character into one of the Spider-Verse posse seems to have charmed so many people, that eventually, a full Spider-Noir spinoff was announced.

It’s a miniseries. And now, we finally have a trailer for it.

The story follows a down-and-out PI in 1930s NYC who winds up with Spider-Man powers. Nicolas Cage plays the lead, and he’s joined by Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson, and Li Jun Li.

It’s live-action, and it’s positively dripping in chiaroscuro. They are also releasing another version of the show in Tru-Hue Full Color.

It releases on May 27th! So… stay tuned!
