On each episode of Unlikeable Female Characters, feminist thriller writers Kristen Lepionka, Layne Fargo, and Wendy Heard talk about female characters who don’t give a damn if you like them.
Happy Bisexual Awareness Week! Your favorite bi bitches Kristen, Layne, and Wendy are here to make you aware of all the different ways bisexuals can be “bad,” from duplicity to depravity and beyond. No wonder so many of us turn evil!
From the episode:
WENDY: “Bad at it” meaning we’re not promiscuous enough to be bisexuals.
KRISTEN: Yes, that is true. I feel like that goes both ways, whether people assume you’re straight or they assume you’re a lesbian. If you’re with a person, they don’t understand that you’re still bisexual.
LAYNE: But then if you are promiscuous, you’re the slutty bisexual, which is another kind of “bad” bisexual. Or you can be the disaster bisexual, who’s possibly slutty, definitely a hot mess, sowing drama and discord wherever they go. I don’t know, how can you be a good bisexual?
KRISTEN: That’s a really good question.
LAYNE: There are so many rules, and so many ways to piss people off if you’re bisexual, it’s no wonder so many of us turn evil and scheming. Like, what are we supposed to do?
WENDY: All you have to do really is to say the words “I am a bisexual,” and there you go. You’ve done it. You’ve opened this up to discourse and discord.
