We now have a trailer for Mike Flanagan's TV adaptation of Carrie

Remember how, a few weeks ago, I told you that the great Mike Flanagan would be bringing Stephen King’s classic 1974 novel Carrie to new life via a TV series? Well, we now have the trailer for it, and it’s endorsed by Stephen King, himself!

Set in the present-day, Carrie will be an eight-episode mini-series available on Amazon Prime.

King tweeted the following about the trailer:

Now, let me remind you of the significance of this… Stephen King, who has had his novels adapted many times but who famously likes few of those adaptations, has consistently allowed Mike Flanagan to adapt his work. Recently, Flanagan turned The Life of Chuck into a feature film, and in 2019, he adapted Doctor Sleep, King’s 2013 sequel to his 1977 novel The Shining into a film. And not just any film… a film that King  absolutely loved. He said that Flanagan’s film “redeems” Stanley Kubrick’s 1978 adaptation of The Shining, which he abhors. So… wow.

Regardless of whether or not you think we need a third adaptation of the novel Carrie, I think you have to give it up for this endorsement.
