Stuart Klawans

Stuart Klawans was the film critic for the Nation from 1988 to 2020, for which he received a National Magazine Award. He is the author of Film Follies: The Cinema Out of Order (a finalist for the 1999 National Book Critics Circle Awards), and Left in the Dark: Film Reviews and Essays, 1988-2001 and has contributed to the New York Times, the Times Literary Supplement, Film Comment, The Criterion Channel's The Current, and Parnassus: Poetry in Review.
